Volbella in Biloxi, MS
Women often want to add fullness to their lips to soften their appearance. Michael Diaz, M.D., F.A.C.S., a board-certified plastic surgeon, offers Volbella® to women living in and around Mobile, Ocean Springs, and Gulfport, and the surrounding communities in Mississippi to create plump lips and restore definition.
What is Volbella®?
Volbella® is a new dermal filler from the makers of Juvederm®. It is FDA approved specifically to treat vertical lines around the mouth that get more pronounced with age as well as add volume to the lips to create a fuller, brighter smile and appearance. Made with hyaluronic acid (HA), Volbella® restores moisture to the skin to add volume and create a smoother, softer complexion. It also contains low and high chain molecular weight technology, which boosts the effectiveness of the treatment and accomplishes the goal in one treatment for most patients. This filler uses a lower concentration of HA, which results in less swelling. Using Juvederm®’s Vycross™ technology, Volbella® results in subtly fuller lips that look natural, not overdone.
The Best Candidates for Volbella®
People with thinner and vertical lines around the lips should consider Volbella® to add volume and restore a fuller smile and a more youthful appearance. It is an ideal option to more invasive lip augmentation procedures to plump the lips.
Planning for Your Volbella® Treatments
You should schedule a consultation with Dr. Diaz prior to receiving Volbella® treatments so that he can evaluate your health and skin imperfections to ensure Volbella® or another dermal filler is the right option to achieve your desired look.
Preparing for Volbella®
The only preparation necessary for Volbella® is avoiding blood thinning medications and supplements, and to quit smoking (if you smoke) a week or two before you receive treatments.
Administering Volbella® is done via injections into the targeted area with a very fine-gauge needle. Volbella® is typically injected into the lips to add volume and around the edges to define the lip lines and diminish the vertical lines (smoker’s lines). The desired look is most often accomplished in one treatment. Volbella® contains lidocaine to numb the skin where the injections are administered and prevent any discomfort during the treatments.
Each treatment session takes about 30 minutes and may be done in combination with other treatments such as laser therapy for deep-set smoker lines (vertical lines around the lips).
After Volbella® Treatments
Swelling is less of an issue with Volbella® because it contains less HA than other fillers. Most patients return to their normal routines immediately following the treatment session.
How Much Does Volbella® Cost in Mississippi?
The cost of Volbella® is different with each person based on how many injections are needed and whether other treatments are performed during the same session. Dr. Diaz can review the cost of Volbella® injections with you during a consultation as well as our payment options. We accept checks, cash, and credit cards, and offer financing through CareCredit®.
Your New Look
Since there is less swelling with Volbella® than with other treatments, the immediate results are much subtler and continue to improve over the next few weeks. Additionally, Volbella® treatments last about a year. If maintenance treatments are not maintained, your lips once again become thinner over time.
