IPL® (Spectrum Laser System) in Biloxi, MS

Located in Biloxi, and serving people living in Southern Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama, Michael Diaz, M.D., F.A.C.S. offers IPL® treatments to patients who want to combat the effects of aging and/or treat common skin problems to achieve a younger and more rejuvenated appearance.

What is IPL®?
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL®) is a non-invasive light-based therapy that is used to reverse the effects of aging and damaged skin. IPL® treatment uses various wavelengths of broad-spectrum light to penetrate the dermis without damaging the epidermis (top layer of skin). IPL® works well for skin rejuvenation, pigmented lesions, vascular blemishes, hair removal and acne treatment.

The Best Candidates for IPL®
The best candidates for IPL® treatment are those patients who want to rejuvenate their appearance and those who suffer from irregular skin pigmentation or the appearance of spider and varicose veins. IPL® and the Spectrum Laser System works well on Fitzpatrick skin types I-IV.
IPL® Treatments

A topical numbing cream may be applied prior to treatment to prevent any possible discomfort. One of our certified technicians will begin the treatment by rubbing a cool gel on the treated area. Then, using a handheld device, light pulses are directed into the tissues underneath your skin. The thermal energy is converted into heat, which breaks up unwanted pigment and/or destroys the hair follicles to prevent future regrowth. Treatment is painless, and patients are able to return to their regular activities.

After Your IPL® Treatments
The treated area may be red and sensitive, similar to having a sunburn, immediately following your procedure. This should go away within a few days leaving you with healthier and glowing skin. Multiple treatments may be necessary to reach your aesthetic goals.
How Much Does IPL® Cost?
The cost of IPL® treatments varies with each person as it is based on how many areas are being treated and whether you combine IPL® with other cosmetic procedures or treatments. We can discuss the cost of your IPL® treatments during your consultation along with our payment and financing options.
